The new bath collection is here, it’s my first collection for Raise Happy. I started with a bath collection as that is typically what foster teens are always in need of. Last year, I actually met with many people who work in non-profits and governmental organizations that support foster teens on their way to adulthood, and they all mentioned the same thing. They need toiletries, like soap, shampoo, deodorant, etc.
They mentioned that some teens have never learned how to use deodorant.
If there is anything we can help collect for them, it would be hygiene products. The simplest things go a long way. So I am hoping, when you opt to buy a toiletry bag, buy a few hygiene products and give it to a teen. I have the toiletry bags available in two sizes. Obviously, you can purchase the toiletry bags for personal use too! 10% of the proceeds are going to causes that improve foster care around the world.
Another great idea is to buy a toiletry bag, and fill it with hotel soaps and shampoos, and as soon as you have a few products in it, you give it away to a foster teen or foster parent who has teens in their home.
Here is a list of items you can put in the toiletry bag:
- soap / body wash
- shampoo / conditioner
- new tooth brush
I also designed hand towels, face towels and flip flops that match the toiletry bag. The products all showcase my design for Growing Love, it is to empower the foster teen and foster parent to know that love grows. It’s not static, and it may take a while to get used to each other and feel that love & support. Foster parents like to have a way to show that they are foster parents, without it being obvious to everyone else, as to protect the privacy of the teen or child.
10% of the sales go to causes that support better foster care around the world.
I would love to hear what you think of my new collection! And I do hope they inspire you to give back to a foster family or foster teen!
